Scholars in Service

On Saturday December 17th, DMSF Scholars volunteered their time to help the men and women of Breakthrough Urban Ministries(LINK) – a residential homeless shelter on Chicago’s west side. As part of the Arthur J. Schmidt leadership program, 25 Scholars and staff worked together to prepare and serve dinner to 60 shelter residents.  “It was my favorite thing I have done with DMSF. It was great to get to know the people we were serving and sit with them… I want to go back and volunteer on my own.”  Kiera (Holy Trinity High School, ’12)
