Sponsor a Scholar
Your gift to the Daniel Murphy Scholarship Fund opens a whole new world for a deserving young person. Our ability to provide four-year high school scholarships and educational support services starts with generous gifts from corporations, foundations, and individual donors. We rely on people like you to help us ignite potential that might otherwise go untapped. The Sponsor a Scholar Program is designed to secure contributions that directly underwrite the total cost of each Scholar’s four-year tuition and academic assistance. The average annual cost per student is approximately $11,000, or $44,000 for four years. Thanks to matching contributions from our partner schools, we’re able to leverage your pledge of just $5,000 a year — $20,000 total —to support a Scholar’s entire high school education.
As a Sponsor, DMSF will send you letters from your Scholar up to twice a year, detailing their most recent progress, academic achievements and future aspirations.
Excerpts from recent scholar letters:
“I would like to thank you again from the bottom of my heart. You will always be appreciated. When I become successful, I would like to sponsor a student, like you have for me, and make a big difference in his or her life. I would like to show them that the impossible can happen—all you need is ambition and a will. Thanks to you, I know that I will be successful. When there is a will, there is a way.”
Chanel, Trinity High School, Class of 2009
“Thank you very much for sponsoring me. Your sponsorship gives me the opportunity to be challenged and have a great time. I can’t imagine being at a different school than Lab. I know it is because of you that my life is headed in the right direction.”
