Other Summer Programs
The Foundation, in partnership with a number of community organizations, colleges and universities, provides enrichment opportunities that include educational advancement programs, adventure/exploration travel and hands-on science projects.

Scholars can take advantage of our partnership with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS). NOLS teaches participants leadership skills, teamwork, and outdoor survival skills. In locations such as Wyoming and Alaska, NOLS participants can spend anywhere from two weeks to three months in the outdoors. More than 400 colleges across the country accept credit for NOLS courses.

The Road Less Traveled works with DMSF and our Scholars to offer physical and personal growth opportunities through wilderness activities, cultural awareness, and environmental education. Adventures include rafting, climbing, hiking, kayaking, and community service projects in the Western United States, New England, Alaska, Australia, Costa Rica, Canada, and Nepal.
