AFTER SEEING HER OLDER BROTHER GRADUATE FROM FENWICK AS A MURPHY SCHOLAR, and then continue his education at Purdue University, Citlalli aspired to do the same. She envisioned making friends, joining clubs, and branching out from her Berwyn community. Unfortunately due to pandemic-induced restrictions, she was unable to begin her Fenwick career on campus last year.
As a hands-on learner, remote instruction was a challenge. Citlalli craved the classroom environment to collaborate and learn from her peers, especially after a long eighth grade year of virtual schooling. With the encouragement of her teachers and her alumna-led DMSF Affinity Group, Citlalli stayed motivated and redirected herself, resulting in a positive outcome.
