Vanessa Ramirez

Originally from Chicago, Vanessa grew up in a family of educators. She excelled in school and was awarded the Daniel Murphy Scholarship in 8th grade, paving the way for a full-ride scholarship to The University of Chicago Lab School. Continuing her academic journey, Vanessa graduated from Suffolk University with a double major in Spanish Literature and English Literature.
Post-college, Vanessa embarked on a career in education and advocacy. She began by supporting bilingual and immigrant rights at the Office of Cultural Education and later taught High School Spanish on Chicago's south side. Transitioning to a role as an Advisor at the KIPP Chicago network, Vanessa spent four years guiding her students through the challenges of high school and college applications. Vanessa's passion lies in promoting cultural understanding, educational equity, and social justice. She is committed to dismantling educational inequalities by empowering students to advocate for themselves and ensuring equitable access to education.
