Tom Ramsden, with an impressive background spanning over two decades in Development, brings a wealth of experience to DMSF as a dedicated advocate for education. His focus on fundraising for tuition assistance programs at Chicago-area college prep high schools has been a cornerstone of his career, showcasing a commitment to creating opportunities for students facing financial need.
Tom's journey includes eight years in sales at renowned companies such as Morgan Stanley and AT&T, laying the foundation for his transition into soliciting major gifts and leading development teams. Notable among his achievements is his impactful tenure at institutions like Saint Ignatius College Prep, Saint Rita of Cascia High School, and Saint Viator High School. At Saint Viator, Tom played a pivotal role in spearheading annual giving efforts and orchestrating the school's most ambitious capital campaign to date. Collaborating seamlessly with the Board of Trustees, administration, and the development team, he achieved phase-one goals within an impressive four months, securing commitments through close collaboration with the school president. A proud Chicago native and Saint Mary’s University graduate, Tom is currently pursuing his Masters of Nonprofit Administration at the University of Notre Dame. Residing in Des Plaines with his wife Sherrie, they share the joy of parenting two college-age sons. Beyond his professional pursuits, Tom finds fulfillment in family time and pursuing his passion for golf.
